Stephanie Coltey, BSW,MBA, ADC

Stephanie Coltey has her BSW from Western New England University and is a LSW in the state of Massachusetts.  After many years as a social worker Stephanie returned to school and earned her MBA from Western New England University.  She briefly left the healthcare field and worked as a customer service specialist in a direct mail marketing company.  Stephanie lived in Massachusetts and returned to working in LTC as Director of Social Services.  A lovely twist of fate changed Stephanie’s life for the better when she married her friend that she met in first grade and moved back to her hometown, Rutland Vermont.  The move afforded Stephanie the opportunity to seek a different career opportunity and she took a job working as the Activities Director in a LTC facility where she has been for three years.  Stephanie has been an ADC for two years.  Through her own MEPAP class experience she quickly connected with her friend and co teacher, Andrea Longe.  Stephanie and Andrea are both native Vermonters who share a deep love for family.  Stephanie enjoys the creativity this job allows her to use in order to enhance the lives of her residents and make their days fun and meaningful.

Activity Professional Certified Course

As a Licensed Instructor, I am qualified to deliver NCCAP’s standardized Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) for NCCAP certification.

For over 30 years, NCCAP certification has been accepted for meeting the highest standard of CMS F680 and is the only certification accepted by NAAP for meeting the Professional Standards of Practice to be an Activity Professional.

The MEPAP is infused with the person-centered principles of the Pioneer Network as well as the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. It is reviewed and updated regularly by an independent Clinical and Curriculum Advisory Board of geriatric experts and long-term care practitioners.

Like all Allied Healthcare credentials, NCCAP certification is based on a formal course of study, the MEPAP, and an independent final exam. NCCAP certification ensures you are competent to deliver person-centered care and life-enriching activity programs to enhance physical, cognitive and psychosocial well-being.

Currently, I teach the NCCAP’s standardized MEPAP APC (Activity Professional Certified) course. The MEPAP APC is the entry-level certification that provides the knowledge and skills to work in the Activity Profession.
